Wifislax is a Linux distribution with a set of preinstalled
Aircrack-ng utilities for checking, collecting data and testing WiFi network security. Distributed as an ISO image from which you can burn a bootable flash drive or DVD (for use without installing on a hard disk). Wifislax - multilingual distribution kit, also available in Russian.
Functionality and Features Overview
The following components are integrated into the basic Wifislax:
- metasploit - performs general analysis of wireless networks, shows vulnerabilities present in them (which theoretically can be used for hacking);
- wireshark - software for comprehensive diagnostics of network interfaces (both internal and external, if accessed), and traffic analysis, including from torrent clients;
- hydra - A utility for cracking by generating access keys (direct brute force matching, hash based);
- hashcat - Another tool to recover access keys to files or sites, but with GPU hardware acceleration support or a distributed attack (where several PCs do password brute force).
Wifislax is a derived distribution from Slackware, which means they have identical package managers and the user can download any additional software from the repository if needed. There is also a detailed manual on how to use it in the Live system itself.
How to use
Wifislax for Windows downloads, you need to create a bootable drive. For USB flash drives we recommend using the Rufus utility, for CD, DVD or Blu-ray disks use UltraISO or AshampooBurning (they support working with images). If you have a Linux system installed on your PC, you can use the "dd" command from the terminal. After that you can reboot your PC and select to boot the drive you unpacked the ISO file to.
