Magic WiFi is a free program from Chinese developers that can
distribute WiFi from a Windows PC to other devices. That is, it allows you to turn your computer into an access point. It supports handing out traffic from any source (Ethernet, USB modem, Bluetooth modem, WiFi, PCI modem). Since version 1.0.8.0 Magic WiFi is available in Russian. The program interface has been simplified so that it can be utilized even by inexperienced users.

Allows to turn your PC with WiFi into an access point.
- Password for connection to AP (you can set it as public, i.e. with connection without password input)
- Internet source (autoselect by default, but you can select a specific channel to get data)
- deny some devices from access to the internet (blocking by MAC address).
Statistics for each device connected to an AP are shown at the bottom of the interface. The assigned IP-address (DHCP is used, i.e. the program gives it automatically), MAC-address and the device type (phone, switch, computer) as well as the current data transfer speed are also displayed there.
There are no restrictions on the quantity of the connected devices. The created access point is of WPA2 encryption type. The maximum data transfer rate is 100 Mbit/s (using the 802.11n standard at 2.4 GHz). The application also allows the user to run WiFi in the Hotspot mode (when the computer is used as a repeater to expand the coverage area of the existing signal).
Some users experience an error when launching the application. In 99% of cases the error is caused by the fact that the user does not have appropriate permissions to change the mode of WiFi module. You can fix it by running the utility as an Administrator.
Who needs it
If you have a laptop and a USB modem, Magic WiFi will allow you to have a "pocket router" at your fingertips. It is useful for camping or hiking in the country where you can not get internet access any other way. This utility also helps you stay online if the electricity at home is temporarily cut off. It is enough to insert the Ethernet cable from the router into the laptop and run Magic WiFi.
